A.W. Landscaping and Paving, Deer Park, Victoria

Disclaimer: Ok l must be honest and declare that the bloke l am about to recommend is a neighbor, but he his a rare breed in that he is a GOOD NEIGHBOR Lol.

Our front yard had been looking quite sickly for many many years. We have no trees and the grass was half dead, the ground had cracks (presumably from being dry).

I had seen many ads on Facebook Marketplace for "Fake Grass" often called "Astro Turf". I rang one fella who quoted me a thousand bucks to supply and install everything, which sounded like a great deal. When l told mum about the price she immediately said "Go speak to the neighbor and ask him for a price"... reluctantly l popped over to ask if he could look at the front yard and give us a price.

Now in case you are wondering why l was reluctant to seek a quote from my neighbor, it is basically because l try to steer away from mixing family or friends with any form of business, just in case something goes wrong (Don't want to destroy relationships/friendships over a dodgy job or an overpriced invoice etc).

Anyways, back to Bill and his Landscaping business... Bill came over had a look at the front yard, asked what sort of work we wanted done and if we wanted garden beds, rockeries etc. We basically said we wanted the fake grass to start at this point, end at that point with rocks around the edges. Bill made some suggestions and explained the benefits of making some small changes, to which we agreed and left everything in his capable hands.

The following week Bill arrived with his laborer and they got stuck into the work. Despite Bill having one of those dingo digger things, they did the bulk of the work by hand, shovels, wheel barrows and a bit of sweat.

At the end of the day (about 8 hours of work) the yard was looking awesome and l assumed the job was finished. However, I was wrong! there turned out to be more to laying the fake grass than l had imagined. Not only did Bill need to bang in a heap of massive nails (special nails for fake grass fixing) but he also needed to spread some white sand... all of which had to be done on day 2.

A few hours into the second day and the job was fully completed and looking fantastic. Not only was it looking great, I also knew that the job was done properly, especially given that Bill did several steps that l was never even aware of... Feeling quite relieved that l never booked that cheap fella from Facebook Marketplace who was gunna knock everything over in a day for a $1000 buck cash (By this stage l had realised that the Facebook chap was probably gunna skip a few steps).

The end result was a massive change and improvement from what the yard looked like 2 days earlier, and mum was all smiles too!

Ok l know he is my neighbor but all jokes aside, l can genuinely recommend Bill from A.W. Landscaping & Paving Deer Park. Bill and his off-sider were absolute professionals, they knew their stuff, they worked hard and they took pride in what they were doing.
